Purpose
Free Quality Education for those that are willing to work for it.
Where to Start
I always suggest people start with reading but the following is a slightly longer explanation.
It depends on what you want and what motivates you.
For instance, where I'm from (Northern Ireland) people considered Intellectual, think Stephen Fry, are referred to as Well Read and there's a reason for this. It's because they read a lot and for the most part are picky about what they read. If this is the sort of education you want then I'd suggest starting with the Liberal Arts. Reading is a fundamental skill for anyone seeking an education so this is as good a place to start as any.
If you are motivated by career or hobby then pick the thing that will provide the most benefit to your career or hobby.
For those that really have no idea where to start then read the following short story: A Blunder. Did it make you laugh, or did you get angry at how manipulating people can be, did they deserve to make the blunder or was Shchupkin just a womanizer and deserve to get caught. Did you notice that the story was complete i.e. they explained the reason for the Ikon and that Chekhov made no assumptions about the reader. Why would someone do that to their daughter?
What you just read was written by Anton Chekhov considered to be the master of the short story by most. If you enjoyed it then start in Liberal Arts. Reading like any skill worth having takes practice but the rewards are more than worth the effort.
Courses
If the course does not have a link it means I have not worked in that area yet!

Note
While this site uses terms like "Course", "Assessment", "Entry Level" these terms do not actually imply that "it's a real course with formal assessment and requires a particular level of knowledge" etc. I merely use the words because they're familiar. I've split the site into Courses and I'm treating them like such for my own benefit. These are not courses per se I just find it easier to work with them this way and splitting them means I can see just what I've been up to in that area. This site is really about self teaching and has no way of formally assessing me or anyone else. If like these notable autodidacts you're prepared to work hard, have a connection to the internet, then a good education is within anyones grasp.
This site is where I'm trying to record everything I find online or any work I do in a particular subject area while trying to learn as much as I can about the world around me. If someone ever finds this useful then that's a bonus.
